A British father has been jailed after stabbing his sons as they called him to use the LGBTQ slater.

Robert Mitchell, 48, attacked his two sons on 26 December while drinking alcohol with him and his partner at their home in South Yorkshire, England.

The evening turned sour when the conversation moved on to LGBTQ rights, with both Michelle and her partner making anti-LGBTT remarks, Yorkshire live Report.

One of Mitchell’s sons responded that he had gay and transgender friends and was offended by his father’s remarks.

Mitchell “commented that he did not like or understand these ‘types’ of people,” prosecutor Edison Flint told Sheffield Crown Court.

His second son stated that he agreed with his brother and told both Michelle and her stepmother to stop being “c ** ts”, which prompted Michelle to attack.

“Defendant put an exception to this and stood up, then there was a confrontation between the defendant and his son,” said Flint. “The pair then started battling, resulting in a pair ending, the pair ending up on the floor.”

Mitchell, who was described as a strong man by a son and who allegedly trained in jiu-jitsu, then picked up his son “and slammed him to the ground causing pain in his back.” ” They continued to struggle on the floor, until Mitchell finally trusted.

After standing up, Michelle walks into the kitchen, grabs the kitchen’s small knife, and returns to the room with her sons and companions.

One of his sons asked him to stop, but Mitchell responded by stabbing him in the chest and torso.

His second son was restraining his stepmother, who complained that she could not breathe. Mitchell stabbed his second son four times – twice in the torso, and twice in the armpits.

The brothers ran away from home and sought help from a neighbor. One of the brothers was hospitalized for three days amid fears that one of the knife wounds nearly pierced his bowl, while another wound came close to his heart.

The other brother told the court that he was ready to pardon his father and stepmother, but that stopped when they tried to blame him for the attack on the brothers.

Mitchell pleaded guilty to two counts of unlawfully wounding and was sentenced to 21 months in prison.
